FIM Enel MotoE™ World Championship 2023: Mattia Casadei triumphs in electric!

The 2023 MotoE season has been an explosion of adrenaline and sustainability, ending with Mattia Casadei's undisputed victory. For the Rimini rider, it was enough to win Race 1 at Misano to become the MotoE World Champion. The second part of the season was formidable for Casadei, who with 5 victories took a significant lead in the standings, earning himself the number 1 on his fairing with one race to spare, right on his home track. The first race was led from the first kilometers to the checkered flag. Afterward, celebrations and burnouts left an indelible mark on the asphalt of Misano.

An intense season led in the first part by Jordi Torres, a two-time champion in the category, but then Casadei pulled ahead. Between the two, there were no shortages of battles, overtakes, contacts, and duels decided by milliseconds. Once the helmets were removed and the adrenaline subsided at the end of the last race, there was a final embrace between the two, rivals for an entire season and sportsmanship champions capable of igniting the MotoE season.

An all-around Italian success

The 2023 MotoE season also brought the notes of our anthem to many podiums. Throughout the season, there were 11 race wins out of 16 contested. In addition to Casadei, teammates Nicholas Spinelli and Andrea Mantovani also secured victories. MotoE spoke Italian, thanks in part to the new Ducati V21L. A motorcycle capable of reaching speeds of 275 km/h, with a maximum power and torque of 110 kW / 150 hp and 140 Nm. Technology that allowed the riders to hit the track and provide a spectacle full of emotions, overtakes, and twists in every event. High-performance sports but also technological and sustainable development, the Ducati V21L led the electric revolution in two-wheeled racing. A hymn to sustainability that demonstrated how the excitement of racing can also be ecological.

Enel X Way: the green push of MotoE

As the Smart Charging Partner of the championship, we have provided all the energy needed for the 16 races of the season for the third year in a row. Thanks to the Wayroll EVO Race Edition and the mobile unit, it was possible to recharge the electric motorcycles until just moments before the green light to have maximum power during the race. Power, but also sustainability thanks to the Micro Grid system, capable of producing some of the energy from the photovoltaic panels located in the ePaddock.

Solutions and technologies taken to the extreme within a world championship that gives us the experience to face the challenges of electric charging on the roads we travel every day.
