FIM Enel MotoETM World Championship begins!

The new season of the top electric series gets underway at the e-Mobility Hub ACI Vallelunga

As the FIM Enel MotoETM World Championship 2023 season kicks off, everything is ready for the start of the electric motorcycle championship. At the e-Mobility Hub ACI Vallelunga, the official presentation of the season was held on Friday the 17th amid confirmations and new additions that will make the championship even more exciting.

 

The most eagerly awaited moment was seeing the brand new Ducati V21L zoom around the track. The electric two-wheeler is powered by a 150 horsepower motor, supplied by an 18 kWh battery and can reach speeds of 275 Km/h.

 

 

In attendance were Carmelo Ezpeleta (CEO of Dorna), Claudio Domenicali (CEO of Ducati), Francesco Starace (CEO of Enel) and Elisabetta Ripa (CEO of Enel X Way). The new features of the championship were unveiled and details were confirmed, including that the championship will have 8 rounds and 16 races, all electric, with two Italian rounds, one at the Mugello Circuit and the season finale at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.

On the racetrack with Enel X Way

Wayroll EVO Race Edition: more powerful, lighter and ready for the electric vehicles of the future

The MotoE will have a special way to charge to be able to face all the stages of the Championship: the Wayroll EVO Race Edition. An upgrade, compared to the JuiceRoll of the last edition, with many improvements that will allow the motorcycle batteries to charge faster on the grid.

  • More versatile: a big leap forward in the maximum rechargeable voltage, which goes from 500V to 850V to support the design of the new Ducati.

  • Lighter: the new aluminum frame has reduced the MU's weight by 30 kg of the Wayroll EVO Race Edition.

  • More powerful: with respect to the last season, during qualifying between the Q1 and the Q2, the Wayroll Evo Race Edition MU will be used, increasing the recharging power up to 11.4 kW.  Energy that will in part be generated by the solar panels installed inside the MotoE paddock.

The MotoE calendar and new features

Intense weekends for the riders who will have to face two free practice sessions, qualifying on Friday and two races on Saturday at each circuit. We will start from the historic circuit of  Le Mans.

  • 9-11 June: Mugello (Italy)
  • 16-18 June: Sachsenring (Germany)
  • 23-25 June: Assen (Netherlands)
  • 4-6 August: Silverstone (United Kingdom)
  • 18-20 August: Red Bull Ring (Austria)
  • 1-3 September: Barcellona (Spain)
  • 8-10 September: Misano (Italy)
