Extreme E Championship, the complete guide to the 2023 edition

The Extreme E Championship 2023 is already in its third season. The protagonists are the many champions of four-wheeled vehicles: the first two seasons saw the victory of Rosberg X Racing team with drivers Johan Kristoffersson and Molly Taylor, and last year, Team X44 led by Lewis Hamilton with rally legends Sebastian Loeb and Cristina Gutierrez behind the wheel. The 2023 edition will see other extreme scenarios tamed by powerful electric SUVs, a unique showcase for sustainable mobility.

The first World Championship of electric SUVs

The Extreme E Championship 2023 brings the excitement of electric car racing into a new era, the era of sustainability. The Odyssey 21, the powerful electric SUVs that are the protagonists of the competition, are true technological gems. Speed and sustainability on four wheels: power exceeding 500 kW (670 horsepower), acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 4 seconds, and the ability to adapt to any terrain. Rocks, mud, ice, and sand are tamed thanks to their all-wheel drive and advanced control systems that make them stable and high-performing in any situation. Despite their weight exceeding 1,600 kg, the electric SUVs are capable of reaching speeds of 200 km/h, allowing drivers to engage in head-to-head battles with jumps and drifts.

The Extreme E Championship 2023 calendar

The Extreme E Championship 2023 will bring the excellent performance of sustainable off-road mobility to iconic locations around the world, including arid deserts, impenetrable forests, and breathtaking mountain landscapes. Additionally, the Andretti United team, led by Michael Andretti, brings extensive racing experience to the table.

Other important names include Rosberg X Racing and JBXE, teams founded by former Formula 1 world champions Nico Rosberg and Jenson Button. Among them is also the Italian-Spanish driver Christine Giampaoli Zonca, the first woman to compete in an all-female rally team in 2016.

Enel X Way also brings its technology to the track, providing these powerful SUVs with all the power they need through our Waypump 50 Race Edition. Top-level performance, technological development, and promotion of sustainable mobility are the core values of Extreme E, which bring electric sports to conquer any challenge.
