Enel X Way and the Future of Service Stations

Our company, present at Fuels Mobility 2022 in Bologna, has initiated significant collaborations with companies that manage refueling areas.

With 25,000 participants from the previous edition, the Fuels Mobility event returns to Bologna Fiere, an important showcase dedicated to the service station of the future, increasingly destined to be a multi-service and multi-energy center. That's why Enel X Way, with its dedicated charging solutions, will also be present here with its own stand in Hall 31 during the three days of the event, scheduled from October 12th to 14th.

    Agreement with Q8

Moreover, our business line has already established numerous collaborations with the world of service stations. In Italy, we have long partnered with Q8 to bring our electric vehicle charging infrastructure to the refueling areas of the renowned multinational company. This synergy, since last spring, also allows Cartissima Q8 users to access the Italian Enel X Way charging network through the app, which means access to over 16,000 charging points throughout the Peninsula.

    Partnership with Cepsa

Staying in Europe, interoperability agreements between Cepsa and Endesa X Way allow our users to access the ultra-fast charging network of the Spanish oil company through the Endesa X app (known as JuicePass in Italy). Similarly, Cepsa customers can now access the broader charging infrastructure network using their own app.

    Agreement with Petrobras

Outside of Europe, Enel X Way and Petrobras have signed an agreement to install new charging points within the distribution network of the Chilean oil company, promoting electric mobility. Of the planned 150 charging stations, 24 are already in the activation phase, equipped with rapid chargers of up to 60 kW, and will soon be joined by HPC (High Power Charging) stations of 150 kW. Enel X Way plans to install a total of 1,200 charging infrastructures in the "land of three continents" by 2026, connecting the entire country with its electric vehicle charging stations.

    The Conference

Enel X Way will be a promoter at the Bologna conference "Electric Charging: The Network and Service Areas. New Proposals for the Territory", scheduled for 4:00 PM on October 12th in the Mercurio hall of Hall 31. The focus will naturally be on e-mobility and its impact on service areas, new approaches of operators and consumers to ongoing changes, and the possible responses to the new sectoral needs, including opportunities and potential challenges.

The panel, moderated by Raffaele Barberio, Director of Key4Biz, will feature the participation of Federico Caleno, Head of Country for Italy at Enel X Way, Stefano Catolino, Head of eMobility at Free to X, and Alessio Cipullo, Technical Area Manager of Elettricità Futura, along with authoritative figures from the academic world: Carlo Alberto Nucci, Italian representative in the EU Mission Subgroup "Climate Neutral and Smart Cities", and Romano Giglioli, holder of the Chair of Electrical Systems for Energy at the University of Pisa.

For October 13th, Enel X Way has scheduled the "White Pumps" event from 3:00 to 4:00 PM, aimed at "independent" fuel distributors, i.e., those not associated with major oil brands. They will be shown our charging solutions, highlighting the opportunities offered by the presence of charging infrastructure at service areas.
