E-mobility: Enel X Way and E-GAP Agreement for Mobile Charging in Ski Resorts

  • In Canazei and Madonna di Campiglio, Enel X Way and E-GAP will offer on-demand mobile charging for electric vehicles through the service provided by E-GAP's electric vans, which are innovative and equipped with a fast charging system. These vans can be reserved via the Enel X Way app.

  • This initiative is part of a broader partnership that also includes the possibility for Enel X Way customers to receive a €30 voucher for mobile charging of their electric cars in the five Italian cities (Milan, Rome, Bologna, Turin, Brescia) where the E-GAP service is available.

Rome, February 3, 2023 – Planning a trip to the mountains with an electric car becomes even easier: in Canazei, until February 7, and in Madonna di Campiglio, from February 8 to 28, an innovative service will be available thanks to the collaboration between Enel X Way, the Enel company dedicated to electric mobility, and E-GAP, the first urban, mobile, and on-demand rapid charging service in Europe. During these days in the ski resorts, electric vehicle drivers, in addition to the Enel X Way charging infrastructure network, will be able to book fast on-demand charging through the Enel X Way app, and an E-GAP van will reach the vehicle, even in the owner's absence. This initiative is part of a broader partnership that also includes the possibility, among other things, for Enel X Way customers to receive a €30 voucher for mobile charging of their electric cars in the five Italian cities (Milan, Rome, Bologna, Turin, Brescia) where the E-GAP service is available.

"Today we are expanding our partnership with E-GAP, enhancing the charging experience for our customers who can rely on the network of charging points throughout the national territory and on the on-demand service," said Riccardo Amoroso, Marketing and Sales Manager at Enel X Way. "Following the success of this past summer in Liguria and Tuscany, we have chosen two of Italy's most important ski destinations, Canazei and Madonna di Campiglio, to replicate the initiative, offering electric vehicle drivers the opportunity to book E-GAP vans directly through the new Enel X Way app to benefit from rapid charging in just a few minutes wherever they are with their car."

"After the success of the partnership last August in Argentario and Santa Margherita Ligure, we decided to further strengthen the agreement with Enel X Way by making our mobile charging service available to customers in two of Italy's most popular ski destinations," commented Luca Fontanelli, Europe General Manager and Italy CEO of E-GAP. "In a very complex phase for the automotive sector, we are convinced that the transition to electric mobility is now a topic of the present and no longer just the future. We therefore consider cooperation between industry operators increasingly relevant to ensure maximum charging convenience for those who have chosen to use an electric car and to encourage those who still have reservations about switching to sustainable mobility," Fontanelli concluded.

Enel X Way has established over 18,000 charging points in Italy, making it the largest charging network nationally available for electric vehicle drivers. The charging power of the E-GAP van is equivalent to a fast charging station, up to 80 kW and soon reaching 100 kW. In the past year, E-GAP has expanded its presence in Europe as well, with an increased fleet of electric vans dedicated to on-demand charging service, reaching 100 new e-vans in recent months, with the goal of reaching 500 vans by next year.

Enel X Way is the Enel Group's company entirely dedicated to electric mobility. With around 430,000 charging points, Enel X Way operates in 16 countries directly and through joint ventures like Ewiva in Italy, as well as various interoperability agreements worldwide. As a global e-mobility platform, the company focuses on developing flexible technologies and solutions for electric vehicle charging to improve the customer experience and support the electrification of transportation for consumers, businesses, cities, and public administrations.

E-GAP is the first urban, mobile, and on-demand rapid charging service. Through the smartphone app of the same name, E-GAP allows users to receive "fast charge" home charging performed by emission-free e-vans. Active in Milan, Rome, Bologna, Turin, Brescia, and present in Paris, Madrid, and Munich, it will soon be available in other Italian and European cities. E-GAP was founded by President and majority shareholder Eugenio de Blasio, a pioneer in the Green Economy sector, and Global CEO Daniele Camponeschi, Chief Investment Officer in major financial groups. The company also benefits from top managers with significant multidisciplinary international experience, such as Luca Fontanelli, Europe General Manager and Italy CEO.
