Enel X Way and Q8 launch interoperability agreeent to accelerate the deployment of electric mobility

Rome, May 12th, 2022 - Enel X Way, Enel's new global business line entirely dedicated to electric mobility, and Q8 have signed an interoperability agreement that will allow Q8 customers to access to the Enel X Way electric vehicle (EV) charging network in Italy, using the Cartissima Q8 app. The Enel X Way network is the largest public charging network in Italy, with 15,000 points across the country. Customers will be able to choose between all types of charging points, ranging from 22 kW+22 Quicks to high-powered ones, which top up vehicles with energy in less than 20 minutes.

"Enel X Way's ambition is to give a significant boost to the transition from traditional mobility to electric mobility by focusing on the development of increasingly advanced charging solutions and offering sustainable transport services tailored to customers' needs," said Elisabetta Ripa, CEO of Enel X Way. "Electric mobility growth is also based on agreements between the most important companies in the sector, and this is why we have strengthened our partnership with Q8. From today, thanks to the interoperability agreement, Q8 customers will be able to use our stations throughout the country and enjoy a convenient and fast charging experience."

Fadel Al Faraj, CEO of Q8, said, "I am immensely proud to further expand our partnership with Enel X Way, an operator that we believe is crucial to the country's electric charging infrastructure. At Q8, we are committed to participating in and contributing to a transition towards increasingly sustainable and smart mobility, as in this case through our Cartissima app. Sustainability and technological innovation at the service of customers are the strategic factors that will provide us with additional support to compete in the market in the long term.”

The agreement is part of a broader project already launched by Enel X Way and Q8 for the installation of new charging stations for electric vehicles throughout Italy. A B2B solution integrated in the Q8 Cartissima app, thanks to which it will now be possible to easily find the nearest charging station, book the charging point 15 minutes before arriving, constantly monitor charging status and receive a notification when charging is complete. All Enel X Way charging stations use energy from 100% renewable sources.

Enel X Way is the Enel Group's newglobal business line entirely dedicated to electric mobility. Currently, there are around 350,000 charging points managed by Enel X Way directly and through interoperability agreements developed worldwide. As a global platform for e-mobility, the company is focused on developing flexiblecharging technologies and solutions to improve the customer experience by supporting the electrification of transport for consumers, businesses, cities and public administrations.

Q8 is one of Italy's main energy sector players, assuring the movement of people and goods. The company is active in the entire integrated downstream cycle, from refining to the final consumer, thanks to a widespread network of service stations across the country and a logistics system that develops in support of the entire distribution network. Through other companies of the Group, Q8 is also active in the market of direct sales (wholesale), lubricants and fuels for marine and aviation. Sustainability is at the heart of Q8's strategy, which it pursues by harmoniously combining environmental protection, social development and economic growth.
